Brooke Mierins

Brooke Mierins is a Canadian artist, based in Ottawa, Ontario. Working across multiple disciplines, including photography, drawing, and painting, she embraced painting as her main practice in 2020. Her work, primarily centered on landscapes, draws inspiration from her life experiences and travels. Time spent in Florida, surrounded by its unique light, lush flora, and abundant birdlife, continues to inform her practice.

Brooke’s deep reverence for nature led her to a degree in biological science, though she later realized her connection to the natural world was best expressed through art rather than science. In her work, she seeks to translate the sensory experience of being outdoors, the quiet expanse of open air, the movement of light across land and water, and the shifting atmosphere that invites stillness and awe.
